This Sunday: A New Sermon Series Begins — From Outsider to Family- the Book of Ruth

Life does not always unravel slowly. Sometimes it collapses all at once.
A diagnosis. A loss. A relationship ending. A future that suddenly feels uncertain.

This Sunday, February 1, we begin a new sermon series through the book of Ruth with Week 1: “When Life Falls Apart” (Ruth 1:1–6). God often begins His work of hope before our circumstances ever change.

Ruth is not just a sentimental love story. It is a story of quiet redemption in chaotic times. It reminds us that when life feels empty, when faith feels fragile, and when the future feels unclear, God is still present, still working, and still writing a better story.

We will also share in Communion together this Sunday as we remember that Jesus meets us in our brokenness and offers real hope.

God meets us in loss and invites us toward hope before our lives are put back together.

Baptisms  February 8!

Baptisms are happening February 8, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
If you believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior but haven’t taken the step of baptism, now is the time.

Baptism isn’t a ceremony for people who have “arrived.”
It’s for those who recognize their need for Jesus and are committed to following Him.
It’s a celebration, welcoming you into the family of God.

Jesus Himself was baptized, and so were His followers.

Creating Community

Connect Groups — It’s not too late!

If you’ve been contemplating joining a Connect Group, or even just asking for more information, NOW is the time! Some Connect Groups have begun to meet, but it is not too late. Connect Groups are a great place to meet new people, connect with others, grow in your walk and in your relationships. Connect Groups are a place to belong.
Find a group that fits your life and season.
Take your next step—life is better together.

Host a Table!

We are looking for hosts to offer their home for a Table event mid February.

Tables are a low-commitment way to get to know others in the church around a shared table. A host opens their home for a one-time gathering—whether a meal, dessert, or game night—setting the time, place, and number of guests. We share the details with the church, and as an attender, you simply sign up and show up. It really is that simple.

Opportunities

Youth Dinner Support Needed

Revive’s youth group meets on Sunday nights from 5:00–7:00 PM. They connect, play games, hear the Word, and share a meal together during that time.

Would you consider signing up to provide dinner for about 12–15 youth on a Sunday night? Just picking one date goes a long way in supporting our students and leaders.

Join the Road Crew!

Helping with Sunday morning setup and teardown is a unique opportunity to see the "behind-the-scenes" of our community while building genuine friendships. It’s often in these moments of shared effort—unstacking chairs or rolling cables—that the most natural conversations and connections happen.

By giving just a small amount of time before or after the service, you play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. Whether you are new to the church or have been here for years, serving on these teams is one of the fastest ways to move from being a face in the crowd to a known member of the family. SAYLove Community Serve Opportunity

SayLove (Sutter And Yuba Love) is a local nonprofit focused on caring for our community through simple, practical acts of service like park cleanups and neighborhood projects. It is a tangible way to put love into action right here where we live.

SAYLove meets in Olivehurst on the last Saturday of each month. Sara and I are planning to go check it out and join in on the next serve day, January 31st. If you are looking for an easy way to serve outside the walls of the church, we invite you to come along with us.
