Our Story
We are Hope Point Plumas Lake.
And we are here for good.
On May 28, 2023, Hope Point Nazarene launched a new campus in Plumas Lake under the name Revive Church of the Nazarene. From the beginning, Revive was never meant to stand alone, but to be part of the larger Hope Point family, serving this community with a unique local expression.
In 2022, Pastor Doug Smith, along with Pastor Colby, began praying and dreaming about a church in Plumas Lake. As the community rapidly grew, it became clear that many people were traveling significant distances to find a church home. Through prayer, discernment, and God opening doors, the vision for a church in Plumas Lake became reality.
After Pastor Colby and his family followed God’s call to Nebraska in early 2025, the Lord had already been preparing Pastor Byron Fisk to step into leadership. Byron and his wife Sara began serving in Plumas Lake in July 2025. With over 15 years of ministry experience, Pastor Byron brings a deep love for God, his family, and this community, and a passion to see people come alive in Christ.
As we have continued to pray and seek God’s direction, we sensed a clear leading to bring greater clarity to who we are. Revive was the original name of this church plant, but it has always been a campus of Hope Point Yuba City.
As of Sunday, April 19, 2026, Revive Church is now Hope Point Plumas Lake.
This is not a new church. It is the same church with the same mission, the same people, and the same heart for Plumas Lake. This name simply clarifies our identity.
We are united in mission with Hope Point Yuba City, a church that has been faithfully serving the Yuba-Sutter region for nearly 100 years. At the same time, we are uniquely expressed here in Plumas Lake. This is our community, and we are here for the long haul and the good of this community. Hope Point has also helped launch other campuses over the years, including Hope Point Live Oak, and we are proud to be part of that ongoing story.
Hope Point Plumas Lake is part of the global Church of the Nazarene, the largest Wesleyan-holiness denomination in the world. Our beliefs are rooted in historic Christianity and can be summarized in three words: Christian, holy, and missional.
Today, we continue to gather at Riverside Meadows Intermediate School in Plumas Lake. Sunday mornings include ministries for children (infants through 5th grade), and our student ministry (grades 6–12) meets Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm.
We are committed to building strong relationships in our community through local partnerships, outreach, and service.
