What We Believe

The heartbeat of our church is to love God and love others.

The heartbeat of our church is to love God and love others. Everything we believe flows from that.

We believe every person is made in the image of God. He created you, He knows you, and He loves you. Because of that, we are committed to loving people the same way He loves us, with grace, truth, compassion, and humility.

We believe Jesus is at the center of everything. He is the hope we have found, and the hope we share. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are forgiven, restored, and invited into new life with Him.

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, faithfully given and trustworthy for our lives. We build our lives on it. We read it, teach it, and allow it to shape who we are.

We believe prayer is essential to a relationship with God. We don’t just talk about God, we talk to Him. We expect Him to move, to lead, and to work in our lives and in our community.

We believe the church is not an event to attend, but a family to belong to. We gather, we grow, and we serve together. As part of that, we are committed to loving our community well and living out the love of Jesus in real, practical ways.

There is more that shapes what we believe and how we live. Hope Point Plumas Lake is a campus of Hope Point Church in Yuba City, and part of the global Church of the Nazarene, a Wesleyan-Holiness movement that emphasizes God’s grace, the authority of Scripture, and a life being transformed to reflect Christ.
